Replacing Broken Glass on Google Pixel at Ai-Yai-Yai: How the Repair Procedure Looks and Works
Glass replacement on Google phones is one of the most popular procedures in our network, which we have been performing since the release of the 2nd Pixel model. This service brings the main flow of customers to Ai-Yai-Yai, so we have created all the necessary conditions to make glass repair as high-quality and convenient in terms of time as possible. The procedure for restoring broken glass takes 4–5 hours on average and always depends on the design features of a specific model. To replace the glass, the technician performs the following steps:- disassembly of the smartphone with removal of the motherboard and battery;
- removal of the broken screen;
- cutting off the damaged glass;
- cleaning the matrix and preparing it for the installation of new glass;
- application of OCA film to the new glass;
- lamination of the new glass onto the matrix;
- reassembly of the phone.
When Is It Possible to Replace the Glass on Google Pixel?
- only the protective glass layer of the screen was damaged;
- the cracked glass does not affect the touchscreen operation;
- there are no dead pixels, stains, black spots, or lines on the matrix.
When Is Screen Replacement Needed and Glass Replacement Is Not Possible?
- Google Pixel display has gone dark and does not show an image;
- the screen flickers;
- the display does not work.
In most cases, the glass performs a protective function and absorbs the physical impact from a fall or hit, which is why the vast majority of requests are related specifically to replacing the glass on a Google phone. As mentioned above, all our workshops are equipped with the necessary tools to replace the touch glass, namely:
- a laser separator for cutting off cracked glass;
- a pressure chamber for laminating the glass with the screen;
- a vacuum machine for pressing the display module;
- additional tools for repairing broken displays.
